CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 1998, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator Linda Waite Smith <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced the new reporter for the Ramsey Times was present. <br /> <br />Mr. Douglas Fountain, 15255 Garnet Street NW, stated the last issue of the Ramsey Resident <br />cited problems with residents putting snow into the street. He questioned if any tags have been <br />written for violators. <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson noted no tags have been issued by the Police Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated he understood Anoka County has been looking into it. <br /> <br />Mr. Fountain stated all last winter there was a car parked on the street right-of-way. He stated <br />there are two to three residents on 151 st that push the snow into the street. He recommended the <br />plow operators might report violators. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested Mr. Fountain speak with the Director of Public Works. <br /> <br />Mr. Fountain asked how much street patrolling the police actually do. He explained he has lived <br />on Garnet Street for a number of years and the only time he has seen a police car on his street is <br />when he has called for one. <br /> <br />City Council/January 27, 1998 <br /> Page 2 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
