Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith noted there are still two vacancies on the <br />Planning Commission and interviews will be conducted on Thursday, February 19, 1998 to fill <br />those. Council desires an overall vision of financing relating <br />to the City's transportation concerns and then will discuss other expenditures. <br /> <br />2) Public Works Facility <br /> <br />This item will be discussed at a later date. <br /> <br />3) Approve City Partnership in Grant Opportunities <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize <br />City participation in RELEAF partnership with Twin Cities Tree Trust, AEC, Ramsey <br />Shademakers, and Good Value Homes to plant trees for energy conservation, enhancement of <br />wildlife habitat and restoration of native plant species, authorize City participation in the <br />COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP program with Sherbume County Tree Board to participate in <br />the 1998 Ramsey Environmental Expo, the Arbor Day celebration at Kelley Farm, and a series of <br />Environmental Resource tours, authorize City participation in the OAK WILT SUPPRESSION <br />SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT program to pay remaining expenses associated with the federal Oak <br />Wilt Suppression program that is now ended, and authorize the Environmental Specialist to <br />submit a grant proposal to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to continue the Oak <br />Wilt Suppression Cost Share Program that operated from 1992 through 1997 with federal grants. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman.
