The unanimous feeling from the Fire
Department is that Armstrong and 161st is the better choice.

3) County Parks and Ditches - Who's Responsibility

Councilmember Haas Steffen stated that during the review of the draft Capital Improvements
Program, it was noted that there is somewhat over $500,000 set aside for drainage work. She
hoped staff will research the Surface Water Act to see who's responsible for park drainage when
the park is County owned. Also included was money for cleaning County ditches. She
wondered why this would be the City's responsibility ~ did someone make an agreement that it
would be taken care of by the City - with City money?

City Council/February 24, 1998
