Myron Lewerenz, 7009 - 175th Avenue NW, Ramsey, stated he has been arguing about his
increase in property valuation. He added that his taxes have doubled' in the last two years.

Upon inquiry, Mr. Lewerenz responded that he has 35.79 acres - to which Ms. Gallagher added
that 10 acres are tillable, one acre is woods, 19.79 is marshland and four acres are wetland. That
is not including the one acre his home is on.

Ms. Gallagher reported that she met with Mr. Lewerenz and she did adjust his valuation on his
home - quite a considerable deduction - from $131,000 to $114,400. She noted that this property
has been taken off of green acres which makes quite a difference.

Jannie Brock, 15240 Kangaroo Street NW, Ramsey, stated that if the valuation is supposed to be
based on what you may be able to sell your home for, she would sell immediately for that
amount. Her valuation was at $82,300 in 1997. In 1998 the valuation went up to $92,100 and
now it increased to $96,200. She felt she could never sell her home for that. Her home was built
in 1975, and there have been no improvements made to it. She suggested improvements are
needed and that there was some damage done to her home in the July 1997 storm, including
some downed trees. She pointed out that she has been disabled for 15 years and is unable to
make the improvements physically and financially.

Ms. Gallagher assured her that she would come out to review the property and also offered to
research some agencies that may be of assistance to Ms. Brock. She (Gallagher) will report back
when the Board of Review reconvenes.

RECESS

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recess the
Board of Review meeting.

Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman and Beyer. Voting
No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beahen and Haas Steffen.

The Board of Review recessed at 7:47 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
(~fe~uh~l~tgy Clerk-

Board of Review/April 15, 1998
