Financial Impact:

Temporary "No Parking" signs which consist of printed cardboard signs placed on
existing posts, trees or wooden lath are currently used by the City for special events
requiring parking restrictions. Such events include street work involving overlays and
sealcoats; street sweeping in commercial areas; the Game Fair; or the Happy Days
celebration. These signs would be placed by the Public Works Department. The cost
would be borne out of the Public Works budget and would likely involve about 10 hours
per year.

Action:

Motion to recommend to City Council that parking be restricted on one side of 150lh Lane
and Helium Street, if necessary, during special school events on utilizing temporary "No
Parking" signage under the authority established in section 6.03 of City Code.

Reviewed By:
Director of Public WorkslPrincipal Engineer
Street Supervisor
Police Chief
City Attorney

PW: 04/17/07
