3) Issue Staff Direction for Performance Based/Merit Pay Plan <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that the Personnel Committee <br />discussed a performance based/merit pay plan because at various times Council has <br />suggested implementing such a plan. Following discussion, the Personnel Committee <br />recommended that staffnot pursue performance based pay. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec pointed out that this was also discussed at a Council work session and it <br />was decided that it would be difficult to do that and be fair. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to direct that staff no <br />longer pursue a performance based pay. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beahen and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />4) Consider Options for New Compensation Plan <br /> <br />This case was discussed at the Personnel Committee level but was closed to the public. <br />Discussion at Council level is also closed to the Public. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Ramsey's Twenty-fifth Anniversary <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec invited Ramsey residents to volunteer to be on the planning committee for <br />the City's 25th anniversary. <br /> <br />2) Dedication of Alpine Park <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced that the dedication of Alpine Park would take place at 6:00 <br />p.m., on Thursday, August 13, 1998. <br /> <br />3) Business Appreciation Day <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reminded everyone of the Business Appreciation Day/Golf tournament <br />scheduled for Wednesday, August 19. <br /> <br />4) Mate Precision Tooling Tool <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec expressed his disappointment at Mate moving to the City of Anoka. He <br />suggested we need to "step up" on our business retention.
