Absent: Councilmembers Beahen and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />Case #14: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) End Probationary Period of Patrol Officer Cheryl (Carlson) Hassel <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that Cheryl Carlson Hassel has <br />completed her one-year probationary period and received a satisfactory performance <br />rating from her supervisors who recommended she be retained as a regular, full-time City <br />employee, effective August 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution #98-08-174 ending the probationary period for Patrol Officer Cheryl Hassel <br />and granting her the status of regular, full-time employee, effective August 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beahen and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />2) Reclassify Inspector Position <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported that the Inspector (building) <br />position which has been assigned 60 points and placed at a level 8 in the Position <br />Classification/Compensation Plan, is placed significantly lower than the Benchmark Job <br />Value used by Personnel Decisions, Inc., the firm that processes our Time Spent Profiles <br />in order to determine appropriate point values for various positions. The re-evaluation of <br />the position indicated that it should be classified at a level 11. Staff is requesting <br />reclassification of Steve Lutmer's position to a level 11 and also that the salary be <br />retroactive to January 1, 1998. The requested salary would be at $31,509. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve <br />reclassification of Inspector position from level 8 to level 11 of the <br />Classification/Compensation Plan and that the new rate be retroactive to January 1, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None.
