Mayor Gamec suggested sending a letter to Yantos and Perovich about our concerns and
inquire of them how we should approach Anoka.

4) AMM Meeting

Councilmember Haas Steffen stated that she attended the AMM meeting and they talked
about transportation. The schedule indicated a bridge over the Mississippi but it looks
like it's on the study. She suggested it's time again to make it known the City is willing
to be reasonable about something that has to be moved further west. She suggested that
the City Council should be looking at what type of legislature we would be willing to
support in terms of transportation and transit. She felt this item is something Council
should be discussing.

5) TI}

Councilmember Haas Steffen noted the information received about recodification of the
TIF bill. The recodification is supposed to make things more clear. She suggested the
need to keep a close eye on this because sometimes two little words can change a
meaning. It looks like they have left the ability to make changes. She expressed a
concern about some of the language.

6) Council Work Session

City Administrator Norman announced that a Council work session will be held at 5:00
p.m., on Monday, September 28, 1998, in the conference room in the Police Department.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to
adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen and
Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer.

The regular meeting of the City Council adjourned at 8:29 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
/
1

-,-Deputy City Clerk

ministrator

City Council/September 8, 1998
Page 11 ofll
