2) Ramsey Industrial Park Councilmember Haas Steffen stated the City now has a Community Development Director and suggested staff begin looking at the possibility of upgrading certain parts of the industrial park. She stated there may be TIF or other redevelopment dollars that could be used toward that effort since it may attract new businesses. Mayor Gamec agreed with the need to clean up some of these areas and suggested staff also research the possibility of State of Federal funding for this work. Councilmember Zimmerman suggested that the area west of C.R. #56 may be more suited for an industrial park. He noted the expenditure of $2.2 million to upgrade a roadway but businesses are moving. He suggested that a better investment might be to invest in an industrial park to provide space for businesses that need an exclusive area with new businesses around them. Mayor Gamec commented that the City has attracted more businesses than it has lost. Councilmember Zimmennan agreed that the City has been successful in attracting businesses through TIF dollars. Councilmember Haas Steffen stated that while she agrees, she does not think blighted areas should be ignored. She stated that she believes dollars are available specifically for this purpose since a similar program has been done by a sister city. 3) Ramsey Gun Club Meeting Mayor Gamec noted the meeting on Thursday, October 15, 1998, regarding the Ramsey Gun Club. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adjourn the meeting. Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman, and Haas Steffen.
