COUNCIL BUSINESS: Case #1: Request for an Interim Use Permit for a Temporary Office Structure; Case of Transwest, Inc. Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that on July 24, 1997, the City issued an interim use permit to Transwest, Inc. (a.k.a. Communicor) at 6100 Industry Avenue NW for the utilization of a 720 square foot modular office on the property for a one-year period. She explained that the permit expired on August 1, 1998, and the applicants have requested permission to use the temporary office structure for one more year to complete their assessment of space needs for expansion or relocation. Ms. Frolik reported that City Code requires a new public hearing and re-issuance of a permit upon expiration of the original permit. She noted previously granted permits for the use of temporary office structures for two or more years. The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing and no written or verbal comments were received. The Planning Commission is recommending approval for another 12-month period. Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt Resolution #98-10-254 adopting Findings of Fact #0474 relating to a request fi:om Transwest, Inc. for an interim use permit for the utilization of a temporary office structure. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and Haas Steffen. Voting No: None. Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt Resolution #98-10-255 approving the issuance of an interim use permit for a temporary office structure and declaring terms of same. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Haas Steffen and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Case #2: Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Exceed the Maximum Single Accessory Structure Size Restrictions; Case of Stephen and Barbara Dvorak Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that on September 9, 1998, the City received an application from Stephen and Barbara Dvorak for a conditional use permit (CLIP) to exceed the maximum single accessory structure size restrictions on their property at 6641 - 157th Avenue NW. The subject property is .9 acres in size and is restricted to a total of 1,488 square feet of garage and accessory building space. In addition, there is a 624 square foot size restriction on any single accessory structure. The Dvorak's currently have a 528 square foot attached garage. They are proposing to construct a 936 square foot accessory building in which to store personal items. The addition of the proposed 936 square foot accessory building is within the parameters for total garage space allowed City Council/October 27, 1998 Page 4 of 13
