Councilmember Haas Steffen suggested the report be provided on a quarterly basis. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamee concurred with this suggestion. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik noted the attendance of Kelly Sweigert representing Sharp and Associates. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve <br />the site plan for Sharp and Associates in Business Park 95 Fifth Addition contingent upon <br />compliance with the City Staff Review Letter dated October 30, 1998, and with the number of <br />off-street parking spaces as proposed. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Kelly Sweigert, Sharp and Associates, inquired regarding the number of off- <br />street parking spaces being recommended. Ms. Frolik advised that the Planning Commission is <br />recommending approval of the site plan as proposed and the Council is considering approval of <br />the same. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Beyer. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to authorize <br />execution of the TIF development agreement with Sharp and Associates for an office/warehouse <br />on Lot 2, Block 1, Business Park 95 5th Addition contingent upon City Attorney approval. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Beyer. <br /> <br />Case/14: Metropolitan Livable Communities <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sherman explained that legislation passed in 1995 requiring <br />the Metropolitan Council to initiate an effort called the Metropolitan Livable Communities. <br />Since, October 24, 1995, the City of Ramsey has been a participant in this program. The goals of <br />the program are to provide for the equal distribution of affordable and life-cycle housing <br />throughout the Twin Cities. She explained how the evaluation for the City of Ramsey is <br />calculated and advised that it is $24,332.34. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen asked if this will allow the City to obtain any dollars to address <br />blight housing or commercial/industrial properties. <br /> <br />Ms. Sherman stated those funds are available but based on a very competitive process. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted that the City would not be eligible for those funds if not <br />participating in the Metropolitan Livable Communities Program. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt <br /> <br />City Council/November 10, 1998 <br /> Page 7 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
