<br />property not needed for the road to be used as a buffer, and the concern that they will now be <br />located on a corner lot. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated he had a conversation with Mr. Hendricksen yesterday and <br />assured him that he would be involved at the time that final plans for the extension are being <br />prepared in order to address the issues he has raised and get them incorporated into the <br />construction plans. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated Council should be aware of the discussions with the neighbors and <br />that there will likely be costs involved with addressing the mitigation measures. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted this has been done in the past with buffers and trees, etc. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski indicated he believes Mr. Hendrickson is open to mitigation, but his <br />first preference was that the connection would not go thr\mgh. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to ratify the recommendation of <br />the Public Works Committee and to declare the two contingencies on the offer to purchase the <br />property at 5860 157th Lane which include (a) an appraisal supporting the offered purchase price; <br />and (b) a traffic study being favorable to the Neon Street connection, as being satisfied, and that <br />staff be directed to close on the purchase of the property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Olson, Elvig, Jeffrey, Look, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Dehen. <br /> <br />Case #7: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Consider Ending the Probationary Period ror the Public Works Director <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated Brian Olson was appointed Public Works Director effective <br />March 14, 2006. Mr. Olson has successfully completed his one-year probationary period. The <br />Interim City Administrator and the P.ersonnel Committee recommend retaining Mr. Olson as the <br />full-time regular Public Works Director. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Case No.1 to adopt Resolution #07-03-083 <br />ending the probationary period for Mr. Olson and granting status as the full-time regular Public <br />Works Director. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Olson, Elvig, Jeffrey, Look, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Dehen. <br /> <br />2) Consider Establishing a New Salary Range for the City Administrator Position <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Nelson stated at the March 13, 2007 work session, the City Council <br />met with Andrea Sims of Waters-Oldani Executive Recruitment to discuss the position profile <br /> <br />City Council I March 27, 2007 <br />Page 14 or 19 <br />
