<br />Councilmember Look stated the City has a major investment m approving these types of <br />properties and the cost to service and protect them. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated the City ordinance provides for sprinkling in any building over a <br />certain number of feet; Savannah Oaks was approved before that ordinance was in place. The <br />City already owns a ladder truck and is covered in that aspect. Highway 47 will be an issue for <br />this site. He expressed concern in how to include a fairly major exit for this building other than <br />onto Highway 5. He indicated his preference for efforts to be made in the articulation of the <br />building in and out. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec indicated the Highway 47 process will take six to eight months before a final <br />design is determined. <br /> <br />Mr. Fink stated Trident Development will prepare the site plan according to the available <br />information on the Highway 47 realignment. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated the League of Minnesota Cities advertisement for the city <br />administrator position includes a salary in the mid $90,000 range. He expressed concern that the <br />qualified applicants that are desired will not apply with this salary range, and noted the salary <br />cap was raised for this position. <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone indicated the League of Minnesota Cities ad is taken <br />from the brochure and advertisement that was drafted for the city administrator position, which <br />includes a salary in the high $90,000 range depending on qualifications. If the Council knows <br />they are willing to hire at a higher salary the on-line ads could be changed and a reprint could be <br />included in the two print publications that were used. The high $90,000 salary range was <br />included with the intention that the salary would be negotiated up. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to change the on-line ads and include reprints for the <br />print publications that were used for the city administrator position with a salary range of <br />$100,000 to $110,000, depending on qualifications.
