PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, November 2, 1998, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota, regarding a <br />request for a conditional use permit to construct an accessory structure prior to a principal <br />building and to exceed the total accessory structure space and the maximum single accessory <br />structure size restrictions on a lot; case of Jim Reichert. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Leo Anderson <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Joe Wivoda <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Community Development Director Cindy Sherman <br />Community development Assistant Scan Walther <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Deemer convened the public heating at 7:43 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik explained an application was received from Jim Reichert for a <br />conditional use permit to construct an accessory structure prior to a principal building or dwelling <br />and exceed the total accessory structure/garage space allowed. Mr. Reichert is proposing to <br />construct a 1,920 square foot garage on a 1.04 acre vacant parcel he owns south of his <br />homestead. He is proposing to store his commercial vehicles and equipment in this new garage. <br />The garage exceeds the total allowable garage space allowed on the property by 256 square feet <br />and the maximum building size by 1,120 square feet. She stated a petition signed by several <br />property owners and a letter were received opposing the proposal. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Anderson, seconded by Acting Chairperson Deemer, that the petition <br />and letter of opposition be entered into the minutes of the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners Anderson, LaDue, <br />and Wivoda. Voting No: None.
