<br />~ <br /> <br />Public Notice <br /> <br />Youth First <br />Community of Promise <br />YOUTH FIRST <br />COMMUNITY <br />O'F PROMISE <br /> <br /> <br />On Monday, April 9, Youth First Community of <br />Promise began programming in their new Ramsey facility <br />located at 6710 Highway 10. This property is currently <br />owned by the city of Ramsey and is being provided rent <br />free to Youth First Community of Promise for the purpose <br />of serving Ramsey youth in the area. <br />The city of Ramsey is providing a portion of the <br />office space as a way ofpartnering with Youth First Com- <br />munity of Promise. Giving these children a positive place <br />to hang out, study, or meet other youth makes a positive <br />impact in a youth's life and helps prevent risky behaviors. <br />Investing in our youth now positively benefits the future. <br />The city of Ramsey is extremely excited and proud <br />of this unique opportunity for Ramsey youth through <br />Youth First Community of Promise and the new Ramsey <br />site. Previously, programming for this area had been held <br />in a storm shelter in the Oak Terrace neighborhood in the <br />city of Ramsey. Unfortunately, this facility was limited in <br />space and resources, and prevented the quality program- <br />ming Youth First Community of Promise is capable of <br />gIvIng. <br />The city of Ramsey donated office furniture and <br />components from the old Municipal Center, and other <br />various businesses and community members donated other <br />needed resources. Youth First Community of Promise is <br />always accepting donations of time and supplies; tables <br />and folding chairs, games, craft supplies, and school sup- <br />plies are especially needed. <br />A Community Open House will be hosted on May <br />17 from 5 :00-7 :00 pm. All members of the community <br />are invited and encouraged to attend. Information will be <br />available at the open house about fun things for l(ids to do <br />in Anoka County this summer. If you are willing to donate <br />resources or would like more information, please contact <br />Youth First Community of Promise at 763-421-8530. <br /> <br />Increased Thefts <br />From Mailboxes <br /> <br />Ramsey has recently been experiencing an in- <br />creased number of thefts from mailboxes. The Ramsey <br />Police Department recommends that checks and docu- <br />ments that contain personal information never be placed in <br />residential mailboxes for pickup by the mail carrier. If you <br />see any suspicious individuals or activities in your neigh- <br />borhood, don't hesitate to call 911. If you are missing a bicycle, stop <br />by or call the Police Department at 427-6812.
