1. Schedule a conference call meeting with Andrea Sims of Waters - Oldani for May 29, 2007 to review the finalists for the city administrator position. 2. Schedule interviews with finalists for Friday, July 13, 2007. ( Councilmember Olson indicated she would not be present for interviews on this date). Council and staff discussed the interview format. Consensus of the Council was to direct the following regarding the format: • Board /commission chairs and department heads should be included in the reception for the finalists. • Department heads should schedule individual meetings with each finalist as an exchange format to share information. • Schedule: reception on Thursday night, department head meetings on Friday, interviews on Friday. • Spouses should be handled separately and should not be invited to the interviews. Human Resources Manager Reed Kone requested direction regarding staff's recommendation for a $500 budget for thexeception to be funded from the City Council Contingency Fund. Consensus of the Council was to authorize a $500 budget for the finalist reception to be funded from the City Council Contingency Fund. Human Resources Manager Reed indicated the job description has been enhanced a little to include things from Ms. Sim's meeting with the Council. This information would be sent out with the welcome packet to the finalists. Acting Mayor Elvig stated he has compiled a list of statements from a survey he put out to business owners in the City. He will provide the list to Ms. Reed Kone and she can distribute it to the Council. 1A) Discussion; Assessments for 2007 Street Maintenance Program Acting Mayor Elvig indicated Councilmember Look has concerns about Case No. 4 on the regular meeting agenda regarding assessments on the 2007 Street Maintenance Program. Councilmember Look has information he finds disturbing that he would like to discuss. Acting Mayor Elvig stated he recalls discussion at a previous meeting that this topic would be moved to a work session for discussion. He inquired whether this case should remain on the meeting tonight or be moved to a work session for further discussion. Public Works Director Olson indicated the assessment policy is scheduled for the May 15 work session. The 2007 Street Maintenance Program is included on tonight's agenda because there are a number of actions that have already happened. 624 residents were notified about the program and a public hearing was held. The feasibility study was written and includes assessments; there was not any participation at the public hearing other than the Council discussion.
