-130- <br /> <br />Councilmember t-tendriksen inquired if the developer is willing to escrow money to assure that <br />the road alignment change will occur at a future date. <br /> <br />Mr. Schulte replied that at this time they don't knOw the amount of money that would be. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated that there will be language included' in the development agreement <br />at final plat, but at tkis time they were not sure exactly what that language will be. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski noted that he is waiting for a response from MnDOT as to whether or <br />not MnDOT will reimburse the City for the cost of the signals if they were installed prior to 2004 <br />as planned by MnDOT. He hoped to have that answer by the end of the week. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that the City should not'be placed "on the hook" for redoing <br />the road in the future. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he does not believe that the road will ever be realigned because other <br />than for park purposes, no roads are going to be allowed throUgh the park property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the developer was suggesting that the City pay for the <br />road. <br /> <br />Mr. Schutte replied that it would be a state aid road. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that past policy has been for a development that occurs on a <br />state aid road, the developer would pay the cost of a standard City street and the City Would pay <br />for the increased cost, if there was going to be' residential development on both sides of the road. <br />In this case they have commercial on one side and medium density residential on the other and, <br />because of the amount of traffic that will be generated from the development, staff felt that the <br />road ~hould be constructed to MSA standards at the cost of the developer. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak stated that she had met with.the City Engineer to discuss the layout of the <br />road and he expressed some concern regarding the water line. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that Currently there is a. 12-inch water line along Riverdale <br />Drive, which serves the Rivenwick development.
