ADOPT COMPENSATION PLAN FOR NON-UNION EMPLOYEES FOR 2003 <br /> By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Backgrouad: , <br /> <br /> Annually the City Council adopts the compensation plan for non-union employees. The <br />compensation plan for both non-union and AFSCME bargaining unit members is based upon a six-step <br />plan that provides for five 4% increases annually on the anniversary date of the employee with <br />satisfactory performance. Additionally, City employees have historically been afforded an annual cost <br />of living increase (COLA). For 2003, a 3.5% COLA was approved for the AFSCME and LELS <br />bargaining unit members. Historically, the COLA approved for AFSCME and LELS members has <br />also been applied to non-union staff. The attached resolution provides for approval of the <br />compensation plan, which includes a 3.5% COLA and 4% step plan with increases occurring on <br />anniversary dates of employment. <br /> <br />Council action: <br /> <br />By motion, authorize Resolution 03-01- , Adopting Compensation Plan for Non-Union Employees <br />for 2003. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />CC: 01/28/2003 <br /> <br />-29- <br /> <br /> <br />
