Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Cook, Elvig, Pears°n, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. · <br /> <br />Case #7: <br /> <br />Fire Officer Selections for Year 2003 <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated that the. Fire Department Officers group is made up of the following <br />positions: Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief (2), Captains (2), Lieutenants (2),. and Training <br />Officer. As in the past, the paid-on:call command positions (Assistant Chiefs, Captains, and <br />Lieutenants) carry a two-year term, with half of the. group available for application each year~ <br />The Training Officer's term is one year. This allows opportunity for change while also keeping a <br />level of stability within the ranks. For the officer term of 2003/2004, the following positions <br />were open for application: Assistant Chief#3, Captain #11, Lieutenant #1, and Training Officer. <br />Historically the Fire Chief has conducted applicant interviews, and makes a recommendation to <br />the City Administrator for approval. These interviews were completed the week of December <br />30, 2002.
