I <br />i <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sample Projects <br /> Local community groups interested in preserving specific open spaces and would <br /> like to educate the public and/or officials about the importance of open space to <br /> preserving clean water, quality of life, etc. <br /> · Watershed or soil and water districts with public education program interested in <br /> adding a printed mailing piece(s) to their plan to connect the importance of open <br /> space to water quality. <br /> · County or city planners interested in educating the public about open space as part <br /> of a larger comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />Priority Selection Criteria <br /> Priority will be given to applicants who: <br /> · Have a plan in place, or in process, for implementing an open space protection <br /> initiative at the city, county or watershed level. <br /> · Demonstrate a commitment to citizen education and involvement. <br /> · Can provide, if possible, a portion of costs. <br /> <br />Please <br /> · <br /> <br />Note <br />This project is not designed to assist efforts that promote ballot referenda or <br />election activities. <br />Applicants would be expected to work with MNLCV Education Fund <br />communications staff to tailor printed materials and/or website content using the <br />basic template already developed. <br /> <br />Application Procedures <br /> <br />Please fill out and submit the attached Pr°posal Information Sheet and a narrative that <br />provides the following information: <br /> <br />1. Background information on applicant organization or partnership. <br />2. Geographic focus area. <br />3. Description of current and planned activities to protect open space (including a <br /> timeline). <br />4. Role of public involvement in open space protection efforts. <br />5. Description of current public education activities and needs. <br /> <br />Please limit proposal narratives to four pages.
