Staff presented several <br />options for addressing this concern and to address changes to several of the assessment <br />methods. <br /> <br />After considerable discussion, it was the recommendation of the Public Works <br />Committee to recommend that the City Council stay with current City's Street <br />Assessment Policy and take another look at it in the future. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #4: Discussion on Campaign Sign Placement Issues <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Staff addressed its concern for the informal direction given in the past on how to proceed <br />with dealing with illegally placed campaign signs and requested that a policy be adopted <br />to allow staff to remove campaign signs that violate State Statue 160.27 and City Code <br />Chapter 9. <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee agreed with Staff's recommendation to allow Staff to <br />remove campaign signs that violate State Statute 160.27 and City Code Chapter 9. After <br />removed, the signs will be placed for easy pickup by the party involved after notification. <br />Staff was also directed to prepare an easy flyer to make it easier to understand where :the <br />right of way ends and private property ends. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #5: Standards Revision for Residential Street <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Staff requested that the residential standards for residential streets in ali new subdivisions <br />within the MUSA be changed to 4 inches of Class, 2 inches of bituminous'binder and 1½ <br /> <br /> <br />
