<br />CASE # 3 <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br />REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO lICEED THE TOTAL <br />AMOUNT OF ACCESSORY STRUCTURE SQUIE FOOTAGE: <br />CASE OF JEFFREY SIGLER <br />By: Associate Planner Breanne Dabs <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On May 6, 2007, the City received a request from Jeff Sigler fOlffi amendment to an existing <br />Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to increase the overage for accesK)T structure square footage at <br />the property located at 17151 Baugh St. N.W. The original CUgranted in 1999 allows Mr. <br />Sigler to maintain a total of 7,240 square feet of accessory struci>c space, which resulted in an <br />overage of 2,140 square feet. Since 1999, accessory space maxilum.s have increased slightly; <br />therefore Mr. Sigler's property has a current overage of 1,940 squ2 feet. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed, for your information: <br /> <br />a) Site location map <br />b) Site plan <br />c) Original CUP, 1999 <br />d) Original Resolution, 1999 <br />e) Proposed findings of fact <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with City Code, Staff attempted to notify propertyJwners within 700 feet of the <br />property . <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting an amendment to the existing CW tOllow for the construction of an <br />approximately 10,000 .square-foot addition to his existing riding 2ena. This building would serve <br />as a storage area for multiple trailers and mechanical equipme1 Currently, this equipment is <br />stored outdoors on a bituminous surface that surrounds the exis~ riding arena. <br /> <br />At this time, the subject property has a 1,104 square foot attac~d garage, a 1,200 square foot <br />horse stable, and a 5,100 square foot riding arena, for a total oU,404 square feet of accessory <br />space. Additionally, there is a very substantial green house Olthe property (estimated to be <br />approximately 2,500 square feet), including about an acre of o\lioor planting areas and potted <br />plants. Because the green house is temporary in nature, it does nt factor into the total allowable <br />accessory structure square footage. <br /> <br />35 <br />
