Coordinator Anderson stated that threats to natural resources was something that was
talked about with regard to the Natural Resources Inventory.

Chairperson McDilda stated that the EPB should be looking at everything in parallel.
He called for a motion.

Motion by Board Member Olds and seconded by Board Member Freeburg to recommend
that the City implement a more proactive oak wilt management program that not only
complies with the new standards set forth by the state, but also ensures that Ramsey
remains eligible for future grant funds, if available, for effective management.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Board Members Bentz, Freeburg,
Harvey, Olds, and Sibilski. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Max

Mr. Rehder stated that the state is looking at making the statute all encompassing to cover
all diseases and pests.

Case #3:

Converting the Ramsey Tree Book to an Electronic Format

Coordinator Anderson stated that Board Member Max had requested this item to be
placed on the agenda. He asked if this agenda item should be tabled due to Board
Member Max's absence.

Board Member Olds stated that if the PDF form of the Tree Book is similar to how the
document looks on the current City website, he recommended postponement of putting
the Tree Book on the website.

Chairperson McDilda stated that he did research the Adobe site. Rather than the
Environmental Policy Board doing a simple conversion, an original can be sent into
Adobe and they will create PDFs for the City.

Board Member Bentz stated that it is easy enough to create a file if you have Acrobat and
Word.

Coordinator Anderson stated that the City does have all the information available. He
stated he needs to get together with Board Member Max to obtain some of the pictures
for an electronic conversion. He stated that what can be done now is somewhat limited.
It is essentially taking the hard copy Tree Book and making it available through the
Environmental Services link. It would be laid out exactly as it is currently. At some
point in the future, the City will hopefully add a Communications Coordinator position,
which would allow more in-house capabilities of creating electronic documents.

Coordinator Anderson stated that Board Member Max may be aware of an option that
might be above and beyond the in-house capabilities.

Board Member Bentz stated that he could create the file for the City if they don't have
the capability.

Environmental Policy Board!
