<br />ORDINANCE # <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNT <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING AND <br />PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7, SECTION 7.61 ENTITLED "LAWFUL <br />GAMBLING" OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to the authority granted by Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 349. <br />et al. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 7.61 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />7.61.01 Purpose <br /> <br />The purpose of this section is to regulate and control the conduct of lu':rful gambling <br />pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 319 of Minnesota Statutes. Chapter is to regulate <br />and control the location of lawful gambling activities and to ensure that profits derived <br />from gambling activities in the City of Ramsey provide, to the extent authorized by law, <br />direct benefits to the citizens of Ramsey. <br /> <br />7.61.02 AdeptieB of RefereBee Definitions. For the purposes of this Chapter, the <br />following words and terms will have the meanings given them: <br /> <br />(1) "Board" means the State Gambling Control Board <br />(2) "Lawful Gambling" means the operation of gambling activities by an <br />organization eligible for a license from the Board to conduct such activities. <br />(3) "Net Profits", Lawful Purpose", and "Allowable Expense" will have the <br />meanings provided in Minnesota Statutes Section 349.12 as may be amended <br />from time to time. <br />(4) "Premises Permit" means a resolution adopted by the City Council <br />authorizing the named organization to operate lawful gambling activities at a <br />specified location in the City. <br />(5) "Trade Area" includes the Cities of Ramsey, Anoka, Andover, Elk River, <br />Dayton and the Township of Burns. <br /> <br />Chapter 319 of Minnesota Statutes is adopted by reference the same as if fully set forth <br /> <br />-96- <br />
