<br />CAse.'" 5 <br /> <br />CONTRACTED TOWING SERVICES <br />FOR THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br />By: Chief James Way <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the May 8, 2007 City Council Work Session, council decided the towing contract should be <br />opened up to allow for a request for proposals process t9 provide the service for the City. Based <br />on council direction, a "Request for Proposal" was made available for interested parties (see <br />attached). <br /> <br />A notice was published in the Anoka County Union once a week for two weeks, May 18, 2007 <br />through May 25, 2007 (see attached). <br /> <br />The deadline for proposals was Friday, June 1,2007 at 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />As of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2007, the City received one (I) proposal for the towing <br />services (see attached). North Star Towing and Service Center, Inc. submitted a proposal prior to <br />the June 1, 2007 deadline. Their proposal met all of the requirements as stated in the RFP. <br /> <br />Funding Source: <br /> <br />No funding required. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends ente1]ing into a two (2) year contract with North Star Towing and Services, <br />Inc., 833 N Street, Anoka, MN 55303 for towing, impounding and storage of motor vehicles. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion by City Council to adopt Resolution 07-XXXXXX authorizing the contracted services of <br />Northstar Towing, per the terms and conditions of the contract. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Police Chief Jim Way <br />Interim City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br /> <br /> <br />CC: 06/12/2007 <br /> <br />-117- <br />
