<br />The inspections will then be followed up with a letter to all affected sites describing what <br />improvements need to occur and by what date. A logical question might be: "what are <br />the consequences for failure to bring sites into compliance?" Failure to comply would <br />result in the issuance of a citation arid forwarding the matter to the City Attorney for legal <br />action. However, the City Council is more interested in cooperative efforts rather than <br />adversarial roles between the City and the local business community. The Council hopes <br />that these issues can be handled in a friendly, non-threatening manner. <br /> <br />Overall, the trial inspection program along the Highway # 1 0 corridor' in 2006 was <br />successful and the City intends to continue the program. Most properties were either in <br />complianc~ 9r willing to 'Work with the City to improve their sites. The City appreciates <br />the effort of the local business owners to improve the image of the front door to the <br />community.
