-280- <br /> <br />Council Member <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # <br /> <br />APPOINTING CBIZ BENEFITS AND INSURANCE SERVICES, INC AS AGENT <br />OF RECORD FOR HEALTH INSURANCE AND RELATED BENEFITS AND <br />TERMINATING AGENT OF RECORD RELATIONSHIP WITH TC FIELD FOR <br />HEALTH INSURANCE AND RELATED BENEFITS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been striving to offer employees a benefits plan that is <br />responsive to their needs and cost effective; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota designates 2% of insurance premiums as <br />compensation for administration of benefits plans; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, TC Field has been assisting the City with administration of its <br />benefits plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a review of services offered by CBIZ Benefits and Insurance <br />Services, Inc. indicates that services offered by CBIZ are more comprehensive and <br />responsive to the City's needs than those offered by TC Field; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City will not incur additional costs by appointing CBIZ Benefits <br />and Insurance Services, Inc and terminating the agent of record relationship for health <br />and related benefits with TC Field. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />A. Appoint CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services, Inc. as the City's agent of <br /> record for health and related employee benefits. <br /> <br />Authorize the City Administrator to terminate the agent of record relationship <br />with TC Field relative to health insurance benefits effective immediately.
