CONSIDER PROPOSAL FROM BKV GROUP FOR <br />CONTINUED WORK ON CITY HALL/POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> In Febn~ary, City Council authohzed the completion of a Space Needs Assessment for the <br />Police Department. That work has been completed and the Space Needs Assessment completed in <br />1999 for City Hall has been updated to reflect current space need projections. Bill Baxley of BKV <br />Group, will present the findings of the PD Space Needs Assessment and the updated City Hall Space <br />Needs Assessment during the Council work session on May 27th. <br /> <br /> As a continuation of this work, the next step would be to develop preliminary building schemes <br />and begin to work with the proposed site within Ramsey Town Center. BKV Grou, p has prepared a <br />proposal for this work; the proposal is attached for your review. <br /> <br /> Staff is proposing to utilize funds from the Council Contingency Fund to continue work on this <br />project with a request to re-visit this expenditure when discussions regarding the 2003 budget are <br />brought back to Council in July. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> Authorize staff to proceed with Preliminary Planning for City Hall and Police Department at a <br />cost not to exceed $7,000 and authorize the use of funds from the Council Contingency Fund with a <br />request to re-visit this expenditure when discussions regarding the 2003 budget are brought back to <br />Council in July. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> Approve Resolution No. 03-02- , Authorizing the proposal from BKV Group for Preliminary <br />Planning for City Hall and Police Department at a cost not to exceed $7,000 and attthorize the use of <br />funds from the Council Contingency Fund. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Finmace Officer <br /> <br />CC: 05/27/03 <br /> <br />-139- <br /> <br /> <br />
