<br />Chairperson Johns thought the concept Riverblood displayed in his presentation was great. She <br />thought this would give them expanded uses in the park throughout the changing seasons. She <br />indicated she was in favor of going in that direction. <br /> <br />Commissioner Erickson thought with the exposure to the sl<ate parl< at Alpine Park, people will <br />realize the parl< offers other amenities also. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Park Dedication for Hack Commercial Center <br /> <br />Hacl< Real Estate Associates has submitted a site plan and minor plat application to construct a <br />commercial project on Riverdale Drive adjacent to Village Banl<. The site was platted as Outlot <br />A of Rivenwicl< Village. The minor plat will convert the outlot to a buildable lot. The lot is 9.3 <br />acres. The project consists of one large multi-tenant retail building, a smaller multi-tenant retail <br />building and a restaurant. The site plan is intended to be pedestrian friendly with defined <br />crossings and walkways. There is an existing path along the north side of Riverdale Drive; the <br />developer will be required to provide access ramps where the new driveways intersect the path. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryocl< asked what parl< district this would fall into. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood indicated half would go into the Mississippi Recreation <br />Area District and the other half would go into the parl< fund for use throughout the entire City. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated they definitely need some improvements in Riverdale. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryocl<, seconded by Commissioner Barr, to recommend park <br />dedication in cash in the amount of $44,063 and a trail dedication of$10,137. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Barr, Erickson, <br />Hansen, and LaMere. Voting No: None. Absent: Olds. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />2007 Arbor Day Event - Update on Environmental Expo <br /> <br />Due to a number of factors, including the loss of the elementary school as a co-sponsor and the <br />conflicts with other city-sponsored events, the Environmental Expo will be suspended for 2007. <br />In lieu of the Environmental Expo, Staff is planning a formal Arbor Day event involving both <br />interested City Officials and residents. The focus of this event will be boulevard tree plantings <br />in two locations along Sunwood Drive between Sunfish Lake Blvd. and St. Francis Blvd. The <br />intent will be to have nearby residents, as well as City Officials, actively involved in the <br />plantings along with staff. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood indicated they were planning on having the Arbor Day <br />Event on Friday, April 27, 2007. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns asl<ed if residents want to participate, should they just show up. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood indicated they could show up but should call so the City <br />can better organize this. <br />Park and Recreation Commission/April 12, 2007 <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />
