COMMENT SHEET

Reconstruction of
CSAH 57 (Sunfish Lake Boulevard)
From CSAH 116 (Bunker Lake Boulevard) to Riverdale Drive

ANOKA
COUNTY

PUBLIC INFORlHATIONAL MEETING
Ramsey Municipal Center - Alexander Ramsey Room
7550 Sunwood Drive
Ramsey, Minnesota

Thursday, April 19, 2007
3:00 - 5:00 PM

Name: . Alan Hamel
Address: 277 Coon Rapids Blvd., Suite 210, Coon Rapids Blvd., Coon
Rapids, Mn. 55433
Phone: Office 763-784-2877, Cell 612-598-3461

Comments: I thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment on the
plans for the reconstruction of CSAH 57 from Hwy. 10 to Bunker Lake
Blvd.
I am one of the owners of the Sunfish Commons Shopping Center at the
northwest corner of Highway 10 and Sunfish Lake Blvd. The proposed
reconstruction work will include constructing a concrete median in Sunfish
Lake Blvd. which will eliminate the left turn vehicle movements we
currently have into Sunfish Commons from Sunfish Lake Blvd. The median
will also be extended north to eliminate any left turn or u-turn movements at
McKinley Street. To eliminate these left turn openings will result in the
impracticable situation of having going home customers on Sunfish Lake
Blvd. proceeding north three blocks to Sunfish Lake Court and turning left
into this cul-de-sac and then turning around in this cul-de-sac to proceed
south to get to Sunfish Commons. This does not make sense, creates
additional congestion and safety hazards and will not work. The customer
just will not make this kind of vehicle movement to get to Sunfish
Commons. It is circuitous, results in two railroad crossings and is out of the
way.
Thus, we are left with the situation where we have an economically
successful shopping centerwho'sviability is now being tln.eatened.
Businesses require access. Eliminating this left turn access will hurt all the
small business people located in the shopping center, which is not good for
the business community and the citizem-y in general.

Anoka County Highway Department will review all collected conunents
and post responses on the project website (http://WlVw.tkda.com/anokalcsah57.htm).
