They plan to take out the tennis nets and put in <br />some ramps and have demonstrations. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock asked Ms. Harrington if she attended the Oak Grove Skate Park. <br /> <br />Ms. Harrington stated she didn't really like the lack of features, stating she prefers the Elk River <br />Lions Park. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock asked ifit's available year round. <br /> <br />Ms. Harrington stated it was. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere suggesting working with the athletic association. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns suggested notifying ARAA, the schools, the Ramsey Resident, and Youth <br />First as well. <br /> <br />Commissioner Barr stated she has been using an email system and could also get the word out <br />that way. <br /> <br />Commissioner aIds suggested getting vendors to bring in some products to some City held <br />events like Happy Days. <br /> <br />ParklUtilities Supervisor Riverblood suggested using the Ramsey Plaza parking lot. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns thanked Ms. Harrington for her interest and input on the Skate Park. <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Review Request for Telecommunications Tower in Alpine Park <br /> <br />ParkslUtilities Supervisor Riverblood explained the T -Mobile has submitted an application for a <br />conditional use permit to place a telecommunications tower in Alpine Park. Their analysis <br />indicates service would be improved in Ramsey by placing a tower north of the closed landfill. <br />While it is recognized that there is aesthetic concerns with towers, it is also acknowledged that <br />there is public value in cellular service. In order to control the placement and conditions of <br />cell towers, providers are encouraged to place towers on public lands whenever possible. The <br />city does receive monthly lease payments for towers and appurtenances and requires that the <br />towers themselves be designed, and available for co-use by other providers (to reduce the <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/May 10, 2007 <br />Page 3 of5 <br />
