Application of Abatement Program <br />• Complaint -based or proactive. <br />• If complaint- based, can City Staff initiate a complaint? <br />• Applicable to Residential, Commercial, Industrial parcels. <br />Funding: <br />Budgeting for abatement activity is necessary to cover abatement costs until the City is <br />reimbursed by the property owner, which may take years if the costs are certified to the property <br />taxes as a special assessment. The 2007 budget includes no funds for abatement activity. If the <br />abatement program is implemented, $20,000 will be proposed for the 2008 budget.
