ORDINANCE #07- <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 5 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE MUNICIPAL <br />REGULATIONS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 5.19 (ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES <br />AND OTHER CITY CODE VIOLATIONS) TO THE CITY CODE. <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the charter of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br />SECTON 2. AMENDMENTS <br />Section 5.19 (Abatement Of Public Nuisances) shall be added to Chapter 5 (Municipal <br />Regulations) of the City Code and shall read as follows: <br />5.19 Abatement Of Public Nuisances and other City Code Violations <br />5.19.01 Intent. <br />Subd. 1. General. The City Council of the City of Ramsey has determined <br />that the health, safety, good order, general welfare, and convenience of the public is threatened <br />by certain public nuisances on property within the City limits. It is declared to be the intention <br />of the Council to abate these nuisances, and this Section is enacted for that purpose. <br />Subd. 2. Application. This Section shall apply to the abatement of all public <br />nuisances and other violations as defined anywhere within the City Code unless another <br />procedure is specifically provided. <br />5.19.02 Subd. 1. Hearing Examiner. <br />a. Position Created. The position of Hearing Examiner is hereby <br />created. The City Administrator or his/her designee may, at their <br />discretion and with approval of the City. Council, contract with <br />third parties for the furnishing of all services of the Hearing <br />Examiner as contained in this Section and set the rate of <br />compensation therefore. <br />b. Duties of Hearing Examiner. The Hearing Examiner shall have the <br />following duties: <br />1. Set dates and hear all contested cases following appeals of <br />orders of the City Administrator or his/her designee. <br />2. Take testimony from all interested parties. <br />—328— <br />
