<br />Councilmember Look replied about two years ago. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson indicated there is a 12 year maintenance guarantee and there is the <br />ability to have the contractor come back to address those types of issues. The City holds the <br />retainer on the project until it is complete and final. He indicated he will look into this <br />intersection. <br /> <br />Councilmember Look indicated he thinks the issue was with the aggregate or stones they put <br />down that were larger. There was quite a bit of citizen concern when it went down. . <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson indicated there have been issues when the material did not take <br />because of weather. Allied Blacktop has done very acceptable work for the City in the past on <br />most of the cases. Corrective action is largely taken on citizen concerns. He would encourage <br />anyone to contact the City if there are issues. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec requested staff to check the quality of Traprock Street also. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated it is nice that the City is being considerate of some of the people <br />that want to maintain their shoulder area in the pristine position they had it in before the City <br />came through and paved. The cost between $335,000, as opposed to $339,000 is roughly <br />$4,100, which is pretty cheap to keep the residents happy. He has a letter from someone that had <br />voiced his concern about that issue with the gravel getting into his lawnmower. This is a good <br />policy. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to adopt Resolution #07- <br />06-140 awarding Division A of the 2007 Street Maintenance Program to Allied Blacktop <br />Company in the amount of $284,530.28; and also Resolution #07-06-141 awarding the 2007 <br />Street Maintenance Program Division B Alternate shouldering bid to Knife River Corporation in <br />the amount of $339,550.28. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Dehen, Jeffrey, Look, <br />Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich indicated the resolution for Division B is not included in the Council's <br />packet. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council was to direct staff to prepare the resolution for Knife River <br />Corporation in the amount of$339,550.28 for adoption as voted on above. <br /> <br />Case #7: <br /> <br />Consider Pond Maintenance Agreement for Holiday Station Store <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated Holiday StationStores has received final plat approval to <br />construct a new store in the southeast corner of Highway 10 and Ramsey Boulevard. They are <br />installing an underground storage tank for stormwater rate control. One of the conditions in the <br />staff review letter is a maintenance agreement for this underground structure.
