Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to approve <br />holding the 1997 Commission Appreciation Dinner at Majestic Oaks on April 14, 1997. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gamec stated that his son is a golf pro at Majestic Oaks and he <br />wondered if he should abstain from voting. City Attorney Goodrich asked if he would benefit <br />from this to which Mayor Gamec replied no. Attorney Goodrich determined that there is no <br />conflict of interest. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman and Haas <br />Steffen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />3) Report on Police Department Staffing <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith reported that 20 people of the 179 applicants have <br />been invited to interview for the Patrol Officer position. The interviews will begin next week. <br />The internal posting for the Police Chief position ends at 5:00 p.m., tomorrow. There has been <br />one applicant to date. <br /> <br />No action is required by the Council. <br /> <br />4) Revisit Policy on Commission Appointments <br /> <br />Ms. Waite Smith reported that this case was tabled until Councilmember Beyer could be present. <br /> <br />5) Consider Possible Changes to Council Meeting Minute Taking <br /> <br />Ms. Waite Smith reported that this case was also tabled until Councilmember Beyer could be <br />present. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Consider Extension of the Emergency, Temporary, Structure Permit; <br />Request of Jeffrey and Darla Olsen, 16951 Zeolite Street NW <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder noted a letter received fi.om Jeffrey and Darla Olsen requesting an <br />extension to their emergency, temporary structure permit at 16951 Zeolite Street NW. They have <br />a temporary structure due to a fire June 24, 1996. They received an administrative extension but, <br />at this point, that extension expires at the end of the month. They are having problems with their <br />insurance company and they are asking for another 90 days. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve <br />the extension of the emergency, temporary, structure permit requested by Jeffrey and Darla <br />Olsen, 16951 Zeolite Street NW. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None.
