CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 1997, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Tom Gamec <br />Councilmembers Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Community Development Intern Kirk Skoog <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m., and led in the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION TO MINNESOTA D.A.R.E. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported that the proceeds from selling the D.A.R.E. home were to be split <br />50/50 with Minnesota D.A.R.E. and the City's program. She commented on the amount of <br />volunteer work and donations of cash and product. She noted David Weidenfeller and Mark <br />Mellander were present representing D.A.R.E. and she presented them with a check for <br />$15,072.57. <br /> <br />David Weidenfeller, Executive Director of D.A.R.E., thanked the City of Ramsey and the <br />Ramsey Police Department and offered a special thanks to Officer Jim Singewald for his <br />dedication to the program and in getting the house built. He expected this money would go a <br />long way in helping out with the program. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION OF BADGES TO FIRE FIGHTERS COMMEMORATION END OF <br />PROBATIONARY PERIOD <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler and Mayor Gamec presented Greg Ostrum and Brenda Generre with a badge <br />commemorating the end of their one-year probationary period and making them full-time <br /> <br />City Council/April 8, 1997 <br /> Page 3 of 19 <br /> <br /> <br />
