166 Avenue, Alpaca Street, and 163 Lane as well as 167 Avenue. Similar to Alpine Drive
• and Sunwood Drive which also had previously consisted of a variety of different named streets,
it will eliminate confusion to have this collector roadway have a uniform street name throughout
its length. Also similar to these other collector streets this name will need to deviate from the
official Anoka County street name grid. The purpose of this case is to identify the process for
selecting the new name for this collector street.
Consensus of the Committee was to suggest the name of Here There Avenue and put it out for
community support or input, and that the renaming of the street should be ready based on the
schedule for building the road.
Action:
Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee.
COMMITTEE INPUT
City Engineer Jankowski reported that John Peterson of Oakwood Land Development has
indicated that at this point redevelopment of Now and Then Estates would be a long range issue.
Public Works Director Olson indicated the next step would be to sit down with the property
• owners to get a feel for where they are. There have not been complaints. However, any
potential buyouts would not likely be eminent for at least three years, so the street improvements
should be moved up in the schedule with something being done next year.
The consensus of the Committee was to direct staff to meet with the property owners in Now and
Then Estates to discuss street improvements.
Reviewed by:
Public Works Director/Principal City Engineer
City Engineer
CC: 07/10/07
•
-121-
