Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt Resolution #97-07- <br />172 relating to a project under the Municipal Industrial Development Act, giving the ParaBody <br />project preliminary approval subject to a public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen and Zimmerman. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Beyer and Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Brush Chipping <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reminded the residents about the brush chipping program and also <br />the fact that the Compost Site has extended hours to take care of the storm debris. <br /> <br />2) Flexliner <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commented on the ride on the Flexliner stating that it was very interesting and a <br />new, innovative way of travel. <br /> <br />3) Tree Disposal <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder announced that City staffis working with the Fire Department on a <br />burning program to help with tree disposal from the storm. We are looking for a property large <br />enough to provide a site specific for neighborhood tree burning. We will ask the residents to <br />apply for a burning permit but the fee would be waived and the Fire Department would staff up <br />for that time. The other program that staff is working on is, rather than chipping the brush, we <br />would pick it up and take it to the central locations and we would burn them there. We are <br />working with residents with large tracts of land. The burn would be conducted after the trees dry <br />out some. He offered that more information would be given out as it becomes available. <br /> <br />3) Transportation Issues Meeting <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder announced there is a meeting on transportation issues scheduled <br />with MnDOT and Anoka County, at 10:30 a.m., July 15, at City Hall. <br /> <br />4) Budget Meetings <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reminded Council that the initial budget meetings are scheduled <br />for July 15 and 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at City Hall. <br /> <br />5) Groundbreaking <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder announced that the groundbreaking for KCI is scheduled for 5:30 <br />on Wednesday, July 7. <br /> <br />City Council/July 8, 1997 <br /> Page 14 of 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
