Case #5: Report from Road and Bridge Committee <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski reported that the Road and Bridge Committee met earlier this evening <br />and discussed the following issues. <br /> <br />1) Report on Temporary Traffic Circle for 149th Avenue <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee is recommending the City install a temporary traffic circle at <br />149th Avenue and Peridot at a cost to the City of about $1,600. This is in answer to speeding <br />traffic concerns expressed by residents on 149th Avenue. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to authorize <br />the temporary installation of a traffic circle at 149th Avenue and Peridot Street at a cost to the <br />City of approximately $1,600. <br /> <br /> and <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: ~, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer, <br />Zimmerman. VotingNo: Nene. '-s~v ~. __ ~~' ~ <br /> <br />2) Section of C.R. #116 Alignment Between C.R. #56 and C.R. #83 ~o.~.~(~-~. <br />City Engineer Jankowski presented the alignments that were shown to the Road and Bridge <br />Committee and stated that they are recommending the most northerly alignment and that staff <br />should proceed with acquisition of properties needed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve the <br />most northerly route for the extension of C.R. #116 and that staff proceed with property <br />acquisitions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Consider Initiation of Design Work on T.H. #47 Projects <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that the Road and Bridge Committee is recommending that <br />Phase I for the preliminary design work for Highway #47 be initiated between 142nd Avenue <br />and C.R. #5. If the City is successful in getting the STP grant, the field work would be extended <br />to the entire length. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to pursue the <br />local initiative project and direct that the Phase I preliminary field work and design be initiated <br />for T.H. #47 between 142nd Avenue and C.R. #5, and if the City is successful in getting the STP <br />grant, the field work would be extended to the entire length. No applications will be sent to the <br />State, however, until this comes back to the Road and Bridge Committee for review. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
