CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Monday, November 10, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator Linda Waite Smith <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />City Attomey William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. Boy Scouts <br />Adam and Erik Brusven from Troop #516 led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION TO RAMSEY LIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented the Ramsey Lions with a plaque commemorating their 25th anniversary <br />and commending them on their 25 years of service to the community. Frank Fredricks, Tom <br />Kujawa and Merle Mevissen, representing the Lions, accepted the award. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION ON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY FRED HOISINGTON <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec read the list of residents Council is requesting to serve on the comprehensive <br />planning focus groups. <br /> <br />Mr. Fred Hoisington of the Hoisington Koegler Group Inc. reported on the progress of <br />comprehensive planning. He talked about the September visioning session with 108 people and <br />then the four special interest meetings in October. The community telephone survey is in <br />progress and should take only about a week or so to complete. He explained that the mission of <br />the focus groups would be to review what's been identified as issues and to work on <br />options/solutions to recommend to the Planning Commission and City Council. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Sergeant Jim Way, Ramsey Police Department, was present to talk about the traffic circle that <br />has been placed at 149th and Peridot.
