Residents had the following ideas to help: (1) enlist volunteers; (2) don't shovel driveways to
the very bottom, leave some as a snow pact; (3) knock down the hill of snow at ends of
driveways to prevent snowmobile riders from jumping the hill; (4) don't allow snowmobiling
until December 1 st, when frost has occurred, and a minimum of six inches of snow; (5) if people
see violators, they should get the number of the sled and report the violations; and (6) put up
signs and fences, because it does slow down the traffic and violations.

A snowmobile club member recited the new Minnesota State laws for this year: (1) anyone under
the age of 18 has to wear a helmet; (2) if under the age of 20, you need to obtain a safety
certificate, however, at the time of the meeting, the Department of Natural Resources did not
have a plan for obtaining the certificate; and (3) non-residents have to have sled permits for using
trails.

Chief Gustafson announced there would be one more meeting at the end of the season.

The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,

Receptionist

Snowmobile Committee/November 18, 1997
