<br />2007-2008 SAFE AND SOBER AGREEMENT WITH STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />By: Captain Timothy Dwyer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Ramsey Police Department has participated in the State of Minnesota Safe and Sober <br />Operation for several years now. Grant money is available to local agencies to conduct <br />education and enforcement in the area of drunk driving, seatbelt, and speeding. All law <br />enforcement agencies in Anoka County will be participating in the 2007-2008 grant <br />operation, starting in October of2007. Ramsey PD has been awarded equipment and <br />recognized for it's participation in this program. The State of Minnesota requires a <br />resolution from City Council authorizing the execution of the 2007-2008 agreement. All <br />expenses will be covered under this grant, except additional clerical time. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff requests adoption of Resolution #07-07-XXX authorizing the execution of the <br />required Safe and Sober agreement with the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion by City Council to adopt Resolution # 07-07-XXX, authorizing the execution of <br />the agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety for the 2007- <br />2008 participation in the project <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Police Chief Jim Way <br /> <br />t.5 <br /> <br />-73- <br />
