site plan review process. The site is zoned Industrial and the equipment building is considered a <br />permitted use. All requirements for setbacks and lot coverage are met. There will be no <br />employees at the site so no parking spaces or paved surfaces are required. The exterior walls will <br />consist of an exposed aggregate. The Planning Commission and staff are recommending <br />approval. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich inquired if there will have to be one of these small facilities for each <br />company or could they be shared. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve the <br />proposed site plan for Tower Systems, Inc. for an equipment building for the Nextel Corporation <br />at 14622 Ferret Street NW. The motion also includes a direction to staff to find out the answer to <br />multiple facilities. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Request for Final Plat Approval of Northfork Oaks 3rd Addition; Case of <br />North Fork, Inc. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski reported that North Fork, Inc. is requesting final plat approval of <br />another 21 lots. The improvements have been installed and staff is recommending final plat <br />approval. This is part of the preliminary plat that was approved in January 1995. Normally a <br />preliminary plat is good only for 12 months, however, there has been on-going activity. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt <br />Resolution/497-12-337 granting final plat approval to Northfork Oaks 3rd Addition contingent <br />upon entering into a development agreement with the City. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen, and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt <br />Resolution #97-12-338 granting an extension to the approved preliminary plat of Northfork Oaks <br />2nd Addition. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Consider Introduction of Youth Access to Tobacco Ordinance <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that Minnesota Laws mandate cities to adopt an ordinance <br />restricting youth access to tobacco. The first draft of this ordinance was discussed by Council at <br />their November 25, 1997 Council meeting. He presented a draft showing additions/deletions <br />agreed to or discussed at that meeting. He had anticipated taking action on this ordinance this <br />evening, therefore, notices had been sent out to all tobacco licensees in the City.
