<br />9.12.08 Business Type Commercial Zonin2: Districts (B-1. B-2. B-1, commercial <br />portions ofMU-PUD1SubdivisioB 1. Business Use Signs <br /> <br />a. Wall, Canopy or Marquee Sign. Total sign area may not exceed fifteen <br />percent (15%) of the .:front building facade. Businesses in multi-tenant <br />buildings shall be allowed the proportionate share of the total wall sign area. <br />The total wall signage permitted may be distributed on any other building <br />fac;ade. -Sign height shall not exceed the top of the parapet wall or, if no <br />parapet wall, sign height shall not exceed the height of the eaves. A wall, <br />canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal <br />building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to <br />which the sign is to be affixed. The gross surface area of a wall, canopy or <br />marquee sign may be increased by ten percent (10%) if such wall sign: <br /> <br />1. Consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric <br />and/or symbolic characters without background except that provided by <br />the building surface to which the sign is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />2. Illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded <br />illumination, shielded silhouette lighting, or shielded spot lighting but <br />not any lighting where the light source is visible or exposed on the face <br />or sides of the characters. <br /> <br />Lir.-Ground Sign. There shull not be more th:m one (1) ground sign for euch <br />parcel. The gross surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed one hundred <br />(100) square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate gross surface <br />area of two hundred (200) square feet. <br /> <br />c. Banners. Pennants. or Flag Signs. Banners. Pennants. or Flag Signs shall <br />conform to the temporary sign regulations. Banners may be used as permanent <br />signage. but their use is limited to 50% of total SiQ:llage permitted for wall <br />srQllage. <br /> <br />d. Menu Boards. Menu board(s) for drive-up or walk-up lane(s) of a drive-in <br />business are allowed UP to maximum offiftv (50) square feet of signage. and are <br />permitted only on one side of the board. <br /> <br />e. Signs in Parking Lots. Signs in parking lots are limited to one sign per <br />entrance and/orexit. limited to four square feet for each exposed face. and may <br />not be more than 5 feet in height. Any signs required by Federal ADA statutes <br />are exempt from these regulations. Any additional signs in parking lots are <br />subject to review by the Zoning Administrator. <br /> <br />f. Number of signs. No business shall have mOl'ethan one permanent ground siQll <br />per street frontage. Temporary signs are limited to one per parcel at any single <br />point in ~ime. or two for a multi-tenant park or center. <br /> <br />112 <br />
