<br />Councilmember Elvig inquired about plans for a trail or underpass at this intersection. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon replied the intersection will be signalized in <br />the future. This will include improvements that make the intersection more pedestrian <br />friendly. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired about access to the site. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon replied there is an existing access. General <br />Contractors of Minnesota was informed that an additional access would be difficult to <br />obtain. The best hope would likely be for a right-out due to the plans for a raised median. <br /> <br />There was considerable discussion of the concern regarding access issues for a <br />commercial use on the proposed site. <br /> <br />Community Development. Director Trudgeon indicated the concern is noted regarding <br />access to the site. This discussion will be on the agenda for the Planning Commission <br />meeting on Thursday. It should be noted for the applicant that retail will likely be an <br />acceptable use, but Council has many concerns about future access to the site. Mr. <br />Trudgeon advised Council will see this item in the future if it goes forward. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey directed staff to include the access concerns in the findings of <br />fact prepared for this site. <br /> <br />Mr. Greg Austin, representative of General Contractors of Minnesota, expressed General <br />Contractors of Minnesota's desire to have the site zoned for commercial use. He <br />indicated the access concerns are noted, but are not a major concern to them. General <br />Contractors of Minnesota also has interest in the Healthquest facility relocating in the <br />Ramsey.Town Center area in the future. <br /> <br />65 <br />
