He suggested that Chairperson Wagner draft a letter of thanks to Ms. <br />Montague for her service on the Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kent and seconded by Commissioner Scheiber to accept Ms. <br />Montague's letter of resignation and to direct Chairperson Wagner to draft letter of thanks to <br />Lisa for her service on the Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Wagner, Commissioners Kent, Scheiber, Riley, and <br />Nelson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Anderson. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Scheiber and seconded by Commissioner Nelson to direct City Staff to <br />advertise the vacancy. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Wagner, Commissioners Kent, Scheiber, Riley, and <br />Nelson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Anderson. <br /> <br />Case 2: <br /> <br />Recap of Business Appreciation Day <br /> <br />Mr. Gromberg reported on the Ninth Annual Business Appreciation Day event that was <br />conducted on August 29, 1997, at the Rum River Hills Golf Course and McDuff's Restaurant. <br />There were about 140 golfers and 150 people attending the dinner. The event was filled a week <br />prior to the event, which may allow us to make some small adjustments to the operation of it. <br />This continued growth of the event will allow for a greater reduction in the amount of work <br />required by the EDC to make the event successful. However, this popularity has also led to some <br />problems with teams reserving a spot and then backing out at the last minute, leaving us with the <br /> <br />Economic Development Commission/September 4, 1997 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
