many did not meet the guidelines for induction. An example would be the recent short term
involvement by Anoka Electric Cooperative and the recent relocation of the Command Facility.

After a discussion about all of the proposed inductees to the Hall of Fame the Commission
unanimously selected Harold Stoltz as the 1997 Hall of Fame Inductee. Mr. Gromberg said that
he will have the plaque engraved accordingly and inform Harold's widow about the induction
ceremony at the Business Appreciation Day.

Case 2:

Business Appreciation Day Update

Mr. Gromberg updated the EDC on the current status of the Business Appreciation Day. As the
Commission is aware the first advertising for the 1997 Business Appreciation Day was
distributed in the form of an article in the March Business Newsletter. This has led to the Anoka
Area Chamber of Commerce receiving the following registrations for teams at the golf event.

Teams
· Blueline Collision Center- foursome
· Blueline Collision Center - foursome
· Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce - foursome
· Landmark Community Bank - foursome
· Diversified Metal Products - foursome
· Tauge/Redpath- foursome

Hour Sponsors

· Blueline Collision - pool shot putt from belly on the green
· Landmark Community Bank - Hole-in-Contest

With this level of anticipation, it appears that the tournament should fill fairly fast resulting in
less work for the Commission. This also presents the problem of making sure people who want
to be involved get their reservations in as soon as possible. In addition, if an EDC member
would like to bring a team to the event to promote the City they should get that reservation in as
soon as possible to allow for their participation.

Mr. Kent replied that he had one team from USDP that would be in the tournament as did Ms.
Montague from her firm. Ms Scheiber and Mr. Anderson stated that they would determine if
they were going to be involved in the event and let Mr. Gromberg know in the future.

The EDC should also begin to develop a course of action for the donation of prizes for the event.
From the interest in participating it would appear that the collection of donations should be fairly
easy this year compared to past years efforts. Based upon this assumption Mr. Wagner suggested
that the Commission wait on the decision to purchase any door prizes for the event. The
consensus of the Commission was to make that determination at the July meeting.

Economic Development CommissionfMay 1, 1997
Page 2 of 4
