COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Appointment to the Hall of Fame <br /> <br />As the EDC is aware, each year at the Ramsey Business Appreciation Day, the City inducts a <br />local business person into the Ramsey Business and Economic Development Hall of Fame. The <br />Commission has i/sed the following general criteria for the annual inductee: <br /> <br />1. Has been involved in ali aspects of the community. - <br />2. Has provided for the maintenance or expansion of the commercial/industrial tax base of the <br /> community through the development of new business ventures or the retention or expansion <br /> of an existing business. <br />3. The expansion or retention of the employment base of the community. <br />4. Has been a positive influence on the community and not been in violation of City Ordinances <br /> in the past. <br /> <br />The EDC requested a list of those who were considered for this honor last year. The following is <br />such: <br /> <br />Gary Reimann <br />Bernie Vevea <br />Gerald Bauer <br />Jack Kovar <br />Gene Walters <br /> <br />Bob Brown <br />Harold Stoltz <br />Chuck Solderholm <br />Bill Dubatz <br />John Noard <br /> <br />Of these inductees, the Commission selected John Noard for the induction to the Hall of Fame <br />for 1996. In addition to those that were considered last year, Chairperson Wagner suggested <br />Dennis Sharp, due to the level of commercial development from the ParaBody building in 1989, <br />to the recent surge .with the newly created business park. Some other candidates may also be <br />Jim Gilbertson and Natalie Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to discuss the candidates and if there were any additions to the list. <br />It was the general consensus to bring this case back to the EDC at the May meeting to make the <br />final decision. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Highway #10 Redevelopment Plan <br /> <br />At the March meeting of the EDC, the CommisSion started the process of reviewing thc Highway <br />#10 corridor in the western portion of the City. As directed by the Commission, Mr. Gromberg <br />provided maps showing the current zoning and what the EDC had discussed as new zonings for <br />the area. Also provided to the EDC were the basic acceptable uses under the different zoning <br />districts.
