After a discussion of what these types of development include, Commissioner Montague asked if
some additional information was available about non-traditional residential developments. Mr.
· Gromberg said that he would find some additional information to be included in the next agenda
packet.

The EDC also discussed how the information will be provided to the City Council. It was agreed
by the Commission to provide a map showing the entire Highway #I0 corridor and what changes
are being proposed. This would also include a general idea of what the EDC believes should be
included in areas such as the 'non-conventional residential zones and multiple use areas. This
map would also include the current zoning and how the ratio of land uses would be affected.

Commissioner Scheiber suggested that the Commission review the next section of HighWay #10
at the May meeting. The EDC members agreed and decided to set the boundaries at Ramsey
Boulevard N.W. and Armstrong Boulevard N.W.

STAFF UPDATES

Building Projects: Mr. Gromberg informed the EDC that the City had
received reservations for the entire area to the south of McKinley Street for the
construction of four buildings. Two of the buildings will be constructed by
AMCON as one spec. building of 48,000 square feet and one for Precision
Woodworking at about 45,000 square feet. The third building will be
constructed by Jul/an M. Johnson and will be 48,000 square feet. The fourth
building is for Minnesota Tool and Die Work~ and will be 20,000 square feet.
They will be conducting a ground breaking in June. The other buildings will
be receiving approwal by the City in May.

Business Breakfast: Mr. Gromberg has met with Shelly Anderson of Anoka
Electric Cooperative and they have tentatively scheduled their building
dedication for May 22, 1997. Since this event would be a positive to kick off
the breakfast schedule, it will be used for this purpose. The event will be from
7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at the facility. It will include a breakfast, building
dedication, and tour. The next breakfast would occur at about the same time
as the Business Appreciation Day in August, which means the breakfast
following that one would be during mid-November.

Building Walk-throughs: The Heritage Millwork Company should be
moving in within the next three to four weeks. I will be scheduling the event
and most future events for Wednesdays at about 5:30 p.m. to allow for some
pre-planning for both the Commissioners and City Councilrnembers.

Commissioner Appreciation: Mr. Gromberg also reminded the
Commissioners to get their information back to the City on whether they
intended to attend this event as the deadline is one week from Friday.

Economic Development Commission/April 3~ 1997
Page 3 of 4
