APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mr. Boos noted agendas were unintentionally omitted from the meeting information packet sent to <br />Commission members. He presented Chair Cook with a copy at the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johns and seconded by Commissioner Rolfe to approve the agenda as <br />presented to Chair Cook. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: None. <br /> <br />APPROVE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johns and seconded by Commissioner Asfahl to approve the Park and <br />Recreation Commission meeting minutes dated April 10, 1997, as submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Cook, Commissioners Johns, Asfahl, Droegemueller, LaMere, <br />Ostrum, and Rolfe. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />NOTE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission noted minutes from regular City Council meetings as follows: <br />February 25, 1997; March 11, 1997; March 25, 1997; April 8, 1997. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case/ti: Five Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Review <br /> <br />Mr. Boos noted past improvements made to City parks utilizing CIP monies. The Commission was <br />requested to review attached information which included a budget calendar, current CIP (1997 <br />through 2002), and earlier dratt CIP prepared prior to adoption of the existing CIP. Mr. Boos <br />requested a consensus recommendation for formulation of a Draft 1998-2003 Capital Improvement <br />Program. <br /> <br />Improvements scheduled for 1998 include $55,000 for Central Park to purchase land or addition of <br />tennis courts. There is also $8,000 earmarked for playground improvements which include relocation <br />to and combining of equipment to a centrally located site. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued about monies requested via bond issues. These types of requests for monies need <br />to be specific. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johns added the direction of funding is fight. Chairperson Cook responded, however, <br />that funds being requested are not high enough for noted needs.
